When I think of words to describe myself, creative isn't one that comes to mind.
It takes me longer than the average person to dig into my creativity, and naming this blog was no exception.
I wanted the title to reflect what has been happening in my life, and I kept coming back to God's faithfulness. This past year has been full of a number of significant "life-decisions", and I have learned how to better trust God with the future. When I look back over my life, and this past year especially, I see the many instances in which He has been faithful.
Jeremiah 29:11 has provided me with much encouragement over the past couple of months. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." We can find comfort in the fact that He has our future in His hands, and He will always be faithful in His promises!
His faithfulness has been evident throughout the planning and preparation for my trip to Gabon. He has opened and closed doors, blessed me with the support of friends and family, and granted me comfort in my decision. He has provided financially for my trip, and I have been astounded by the generosity of my friends and family.
Over and over again He proves to be faithful, despite my lack of trust and the fact that I try to take matters into my own hands. Every day is a struggle to give up control and to put my trust in Him.
I am excited to see what He has in store for me in Africa. Although it may not be what I expect, His plans for me are far better than anything I could ever imagine. I can put the entirety of my trust in His hands, because I know...
